The Ruhlin construction professionals have expertise and experience implementing sustainable design and construction elements and approaches into all types of built environments.
We are currently working with several owners and design teams to implement sustainable design and construction into projects including twelve K-12 schools that are seeking a minimum of LEED Silver Certification.
One of these projects is the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathmatics School at the Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio. This new sustainable project is a collaborative effort with the Ohio School Facilities Commissioning, the Akron Public Schools and the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Ruhlin is also currently involved with the planning, design and construction of alternative fuel production and power generation projects in Ohio and surrounding states including an ethanol plant and two low-head hydro generation projects. |

The Ruhlin Company is committed to constructing facilities that promote sustainable benefits to our clients, their facility occupants and the surrounding region. We are dedicated to using construction methods that enhance construction efficiency, protect surrounding ecosystems and reduce our carbon footprint. The Ruhlin Company strives to have a positive impact on our local & national environment.
We have been “raising the bar” to support the national efforts to make a positive “green” global impact. Our in-house team consists of LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP’s) as well as LEED knowledgeable and experienced construction professionals. As a result of our efforts to raise the bar, we have several projects under construction that are in the process of acquiring a minimum of a LEED Silver Certification.
As part of our corporate commitment towards a more sustainable environment, we have incorporated the following guidelines at our offices and our sustainable project sites.

• Protecting the quality of water resources
• Refueling of equipment in a contained area
Construction Efficiency

• Utilizing web-based programs to communicate with clients, subcontractors, AE design teams and our offices
Sustainable Values
• Partnering with companies that complement our corporate and client sustainable philosophy
