The Ruhlin construction professionals have expertise and experience implementing sustainable design and construction elements and approaches into all types of built environments.

We are currently working with several owners and design teams to implement sustainable design and construction into projects including twelve K-12 schools that are seeking a minimum of LEED Silver Certification.

One of these projects is the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathmatics School at the Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio. This new sustainable project is a collaborative effort with the Ohio School Facilities Commissioning, the Akron Public Schools and the National Inventors Hall of Fame.

Ruhlin is also currently involved with the planning, design and construction of alternative fuel production and power generation projects in Ohio and surrounding states including an ethanol plant and two low-head hydro generation projects.

Ruhlin | Sustainability

The Ruhlin Company is committed to constructing facilities that promote sustainable benefits to our clients, facility occupants, and the surrounding region. Ruhlin has a strong resume of construction buildings with sustainable elements having been involved in over 20 LEED projects. We are dedicated to using construction methods that enhance construction efficiency, protect surrounding ecosystems and reduce our carbon footprint. The Ruhlin Company strives to have a positive impact on our local & national environment.

Our in-house team consists of LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP’s) and LEED Green Associates (LEED GA’s) on our preconstruction and construction teams. We work collaboratively with design teams and actively engage in eco-charrettes to analyze the cost benefit to proposed green solutions, making sure they fit within the owner’s overall project goals. This early planning puts the project on the path to success, which we continue during construction. Our staff monitors the LEED initiatives in the field to properly document achievement of our sustainable goals.

As part of our corporate commitment towards a more sustainable environment; we have incorporated the following guidelines at our offices and our sustainable project sites.
